Small Stream Trout Workshop
The FFT Small Stream Trout Workshop is conducted on the North Fork Yuba River. The school will focus on the skills you need to explore our Northern Sierra small streams. We will teach our students how to fish pocket water and small stream runs and pools using upstream dry and nymph presentaions as well as tight line European nymphing. freestone stream and stillwater instruction.
This Trout Workshop is designed for anglers who are novice to intermediate anglers. The student will learn proper casting techniques, reels, fly lines, knots, leaders, flies, and wading. Rigging rods for small streams will be covered. The one day school allows students to spend quality one on one time with the instructor and plenty of time to practice the students new found skills.
FFT Small Stream Workshop Details
The Small Stream Trout Workshops are offered to groups consisting of 6 -10 attendees. Get a group together and schedule your workshop. The cost of the workshop varies depending upon the number of attendees.
6 people - $100 each
7-8 people $ 90 each
9-10 people $ 70 each
Individual Instruction - $50 an hour

- High Stick Nymphing
- Fly Patterns and selection
- Seasonal Transitions and Food Source
- Wading Techniques
- Fly Pattern
- BYO lunch snacks and beverages
- Table Top instruction by top Sierra Guide guides both off and on the water.
- In depth instruction on small stream tactics and techniques.
- Students are responsible to bring their own wading gear, rod and reel.
- FFT will provide gear if requested.
- Students must possess a valid California fishing license.
